![]() The rifle is fitted has been with a pistol grip "C" type walnut stock with a walnut handguard that has been modified like the USMC sniper rifle that has a square hole cut through the handguard to allow the front scope block to protrude through. The action is fitted with a "NS" marked bolt that has been polished, and renumbered (1516935) on top to match the rifle. The front end of the barrel is marked: "SA/Ordnance Bomb/3-38". The rifle itself was a standard production Model 1903 rifle that has had the muzzle and top front section section of the barrel (between the front barrel band cutout area) restamped with a spurious star-gauged type mark. This is a late production 1938 dated Model 1903 Springfield bolt action rifle that has been assembled into a Model 1942 style USMC Sniper rifle.
